If you are new to digital photography and you want to know more about how to control the processfrom recording the image to making the printthis is a good workshop for you.
Bring your camera manual and your questions. Class is held at the One Earth Gallery, in Ballard.
Learn the basics of Photoshop image editing including:
- RAW vs JPG - what format to shoot
- computer color modes - RGB, CMYK
- sizing and saving images for print and email
- color correcting
- the tool palette
- using layers
- sharpening
- removing spots
- scaling areas
- enhancing shadow and light detail

Prerequisites: Students should be comfortable using a mouse, opening and saving files, and should know generally how to use their computer keyboard, mouse and windows.
Software: We will use Photoshop CS for demonstrations in the workshop. Most of the techniques we will demonstrate are similar using Photoshop Elements. You should have either Photoshop Elements (V4 or later) or Photoshop (CS or later) installed on your computer to derive the most benefit from the workshop.
